GET STARTED YOUR LMS ONBOARDING PATH
You signed up — welcome to the Dojo. This page walks you through everything you need: setting up your LMS, making accounts on the right platforms, and watching the right tutorials so your first day building isn't your last day figuring out how.
Your Onboarding Path
Step 1 · LAZR Dojo LMS
First stop: make your LAZR Dojo LMS account. This is your home base — every project, every pathway, every checkpoint lives here.
- 1Click Open the LMS below to reach the LAZR Dojo login page.
- 2Create your account and pick a 4-digit pin.
- 3Log in and explore the LMS dashboard — projects, missions, badges, all live there.
- 4Bookmark the LMS and come back here for your tool accounts.
Step 2 · Scratch (MIT)
Scratch is where most game designers start their journey. Drag blocks together to build games, animations, and stories — no syntax to memorize, just logic to learn.
- 1Make your account at scratch.mit.edu/join using the link below.
- 2Open the Getting Started tutorial right inside the Scratch editor.
- 3Build your first project — keep it small, ship it, then iterate.
- 4Bring your Scratch link to the Dojo and a mentor will help you level up.
Step 3 · Microsoft MakeCode Arcade
MakeCode Arcade is where retro game design clicks. Use blocks or JavaScript / Python to build playable arcade games right in the browser — and run them on real handheld devices later.
- 1Head to arcade.makecode.com using the link below.
- 2Make your account (or sign in with a Microsoft account if you have one).
- 3Watch the walkthrough video on the right →
- 4Start with a template, modify it, then build something completely your own.
Step 4 · Unreal Engine
Unreal is the industry-standard engine behind games like Fortnite and titles across the AAA studio space. Powerful for 3D worlds, cinematic visuals, and pro-level VR — and it's free to learn.
- 1Make an Epic Games account via the Unreal Learning hub link below.
- 2Download the Epic Games Launcher (you'll install Unreal from there).
- 3Watch the intro tutorial on the right → before installing the engine.
- 4Install Unreal Engine — heads up, it's a big download. Plan for 30+ minutes.
Step 5 · Unity
Unity is the engine of choice for most indie devs and our Dojo's official Pathway program. C# scripting, world-class VR support, and the same Unity Learn courses we walk through in our cohorts.
- 1Make a Unity ID at login.unity.com/en/sign-up using the link below.
- 2Download Unity Hub (you'll install Unity Editor through Hub).
- 3Watch the intro video on the right → before opening your first project.
- 4Then jump into a Unity Pathway at LAZR Dojo and start building.
